2012
– January: acquisition of the wine estate by the Scheufele Family
– February: major flooding of the château
2013
– Late summer: just before harvesting, vineyard ravaged by hail storm, no red wine produced in 2013
2014
– Implementation of a large-scale planting programme to revitalise the natural environment, with to date:
➔ Over 600 trees of diverse species planted throughout the property.
➔ 1.8 km of hedges, section by section, planted throughout the estate. Local varieties adapted to the soil and climatic conditions, thus perfectly autonomous, pollinating and protecting the ecosystems and the soil.
– Simultaneously, beginning of the conversion into organic and biodynamics in collaboration with Corinne Comme
– Launch of a large-scale restructuring programme (scheduled to end in 2025)
➔ Project to extend and build the winery buildings: new vat room, herbarium, barrel cellar, storage buildings. Complete renovation of the cellar and tasting room. Total surface area of the project: over 3,000 m2
2015
– Continuation of renovation and construction works
– Setting up of a new team in charge of the vineyards and the cellars
– Acquisition of additional vineyards nearby
– Creation of the biodynamic garden and the herbarium
– First vinification in the new vat room
2016
– Completion of renovation and construction works
– Inauguration of the new buildings on 10th June 2016
➔ Result: plot by plot vinification
– Start of studies for a geothermal installation
2017
– Collaboration with the oenologist and consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt and his team, in charge of monitoring the estate within the framework of biodynamics in closecooperation with the team of Château Monestier La Tour
– Acquisition of further plots of organic vines from a neighbouring winegrower
2018
– Bio certification by ECOCERT
– Creation of a water treatment system
2019
– Plantation of 1 hectare of Cabernet Franc
2020
– Publication of the book «Monestier La Tour – Timeless Périgord» by Chandra Kurt published by Assouline
– New creation: Cuvée M Vin Nature without the addition of sulphite
2021
– Plantation of 1 hectare of Chardonnay
2022
– The Château Monestier La Tour and the Scheufele Family, 10 years already…
– Geothermal installation completed and operational
– Several wines from the château rated by Robert Parker – A great first in the region!
